Cabin Services Assistant

The Cabin Services Assistant role focuses on delivering an exceptional onboard experience by organizing, hygienically cleaning, and personalizing the A380 Shower Spas. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that every First Class customer using this exclusive onboard feature enjoys a memorable and delightful experience. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and personalization within the Shower Spas.

In addition to Shower Spa responsibilities, this role also includes the upkeep of First, Business, and Economy Class lavatories, as well as First and Business Class lounges and selected cabin areas. All assigned duties contribute to maintaining a consistently positive brand image and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

This position is dedicated solely to cleaning and maintaining designated aircraft areas and does not replace or overlap with standard Cabin Crew service duties. The Cabin Services Assistant reports directly to the Purser or, in the absence of the Purser, to the Senior Flight Steward (SFS).

Key Responsibilities

Manage inventory control by verifying that all products are loaded in the correct quantities. This ensures onboard facilities can be fully serviced, in-flight replenishments can be completed efficiently, and a broad selection of products remains available for customer use.

Inspect Shower Spas and lavatories prior to passenger boarding, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards and required amenity items are correctly placed and prepared for use.

Clean Shower Spas promptly and hygienically after each customer use, following approved cleaning procedures and utilizing the Cabin Services Assistant checklist to consistently meet required quality standards.

Personalize the Shower Spa for each customer according to the allocated time shown in the Shower Spa Reservation System. Selected products must be displayed appropriately to enhance the customer experience and create a premium, welcoming environment.

Ensure that no unauthorized access to the Shower Spa occurs once the area has been prepared for a scheduled customer. Notify the Purser if the Shower Spa Reservation System falls behind schedule to protect cleanliness standards and ensure smooth operation for all First Class customers.

Maintain lavatories in a clean, orderly, and well-stocked condition by routinely completing checklist procedures and ensuring all amenities are available at all times.

Preserve a clean, safe, and visually appealing cabin environment by carrying out cabin tidy duties across all passenger cabins and shared social areas.

Report any defects, damages, or technical issues to the Purser to ensure timely resolution. Safeguard company assets and uphold safety standards by immediately reporting discrepancies, unusual sounds or odors, abnormal customer behavior, or suspicious items to the nearest crew member for further investigation.

Report for duty punctually and comply fully with uniform and grooming standards. Follow the established chain of command both on the ground and during flights, and perform all assigned duties under the direction of the Purser.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of 10 years of schooling or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of two years’ customer service experience with an international hotel chain, airline, or recognized world-class service provider
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a housekeeping department, is considered an advantage
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
