Career opportunity at SEHA SALMA REHABILITATION HOSPITAL; APPLY NOW

In the United Arab Emirates, pediatric long-term care has entered a new era with the establishment of Salma Children’s Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Hospital (SCRH). Recognized as the country’s only private hospital offering a fully holistic approach to extended pediatric care and rehabilitation, the facility was created to address the complex medical and developmental needs of children requiring specialized, ongoing treatment. The hospital proudly carries the name of Salma Al Sharhan, acknowledged as the first and oldest Emirati nurse. This tribute reflects a deep respect for the nation’s healthcare heritage and honors a legacy of compassion, dedication, and service. The values embodied by her pioneering career continue to inspire the hospital’s commitment to nurturing young lives with dignity and expertise. Every aspect of the environment has been carefully designed with children in mind. The architecture moves away from the intimidating atmosphere often associated with clinical institutions. Instead, bright colors, welcoming interiors, and thoughtfully planned spaces create a sense of comfort and reassurance. Patient rooms are spacious, allowing families to remain close during treatment, while therapy areas are equipped to support a wide range of rehabilitative services. Beyond medical treatment rooms, the hospital features extensive indoor and outdoor areas dedicated to recovery and recreation. These spaces are intentionally integrated into care plans, encouraging physical activity, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing. Rehabilitation does not occur solely through structured therapy sessions; healing is also supported through play, movement, and engagement within a safe and stimulating environment.
SCRH was founded with a clear objective: to deliver world-class pediatric rehabilitation services tailored to the unique needs of children in the region. The institution aims to become a leading integrated rehabilitation center, combining advanced medical expertise with cultural understanding. Treatment programs are structured not only around clinical requirements but also around family involvement, recognizing that parental participation plays a vital role in long-term progress. A multidisciplinary team forms the backbone of the hospital’s care model. Physicians, pediatric specialists, rehabilitation therapists, and experienced nurses collaborate closely to develop individualized treatment plans. Each professional contributes specialized knowledge, ensuring that medical, physical, cognitive, and emotional needs are addressed simultaneously. This integrated approach strengthens outcomes and promotes comprehensive development. Cultural awareness is deeply embedded in daily operations. Healthcare professionals represent diverse nationalities and professional backgrounds, bringing international experience while remaining sensitive to local traditions. Understanding social values, family dynamics, and religious considerations allows care to be delivered with respect and empathy. Such cultural fluency enhances communication and fosters trust between families and healthcare providers. Hospitality remains an essential element of the patient experience. Inspired by the traditions of Arabian warmth and generosity, interactions are guided by attentiveness and compassion. From admission to discharge planning, families encounter an atmosphere that balances professionalism with genuine care. Small gestures—clear communication, patience, and attentiveness—make a significant difference during challenging times.

Language accessibility further strengthens this supportive environment. Arabic-speaking staff members are present in every department and on every shift, ensuring that families can communicate comfortably and confidently. The ability to discuss medical concerns in one’s native language reduces anxiety and allows for clearer understanding of treatment plans, progress updates, and long-term care strategies. While advanced medical technology and specialized therapies play a critical role, the hospital’s philosophy extends beyond equipment and procedures. Emotional wellbeing is regarded as equally important as physical rehabilitation. Psychosocial support services are integrated into patient care, offering counseling and guidance for both children and family members navigating complex medical journeys. Education and developmental stimulation are also prioritized. Long-term hospitalization can interrupt schooling and social development; therefore, structured learning activities and interactive programs are incorporated whenever possible. By maintaining cognitive engagement, children are supported academically while continuing medical treatment. Safety and quality standards remain at the forefront of operations. Strict protocols govern infection control, patient monitoring, and therapeutic interventions. Continuous training ensures that healthcare professionals remain updated on the latest advancements in pediatric rehabilitation and long-term care practices. Excellence is pursued not as a one-time achievement but as an ongoing responsibility.
Families often face emotional and practical challenges when caring for children with complex needs. SCRH provides guidance that extends beyond clinical treatment, assisting caregivers in understanding long-term management strategies and home-care planning. Empowering families with knowledge builds confidence and prepares them for continued support beyond the hospital setting. As healthcare demands evolve, the importance of specialized pediatric rehabilitation facilities becomes increasingly evident. Salma Children’s Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Hospital represents a significant milestone within the UAE’s healthcare landscape. By combining advanced clinical expertise, child-centered design, cultural sensitivity, and compassionate service, the institution offers a comprehensive solution tailored specifically for young patients requiring extended care. The legacy of Salma Al Sharhan lives on through this commitment to excellence. Her pioneering spirit serves as a reminder that healthcare is not solely about treatment, but about humanity, dedication, and hope. Within thoughtfully designed spaces and through the efforts of skilled professionals, children receive care that supports healing, growth, and renewed possibility for the future.
