Policies, Processes & Procedures

Senior Associate – ESG Compliance

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Supplier qualification

  • Sending out/ triggering questionnaires to business partners and evaluating the response identifying gaps, inconsistencies or instinct (ie: where response does not ring true)
  • Timely follow-up with suppliers where no response received/ gaps in response/ missing information

• Plans, organizes, and directs orientation and training for employees or customers of industrial or commercial establishments as and when required;
• Assists in the development of programme content and assessments criteria to meet specific departmental requirements and external bodies that will ensure a consistent approach to content, time scale, numbering and format in accordance with ISO & IATF requirements;
• Works closely with Plant Superintendents and Managers to ensure appropriate training is delivered to meet specific competence level and promotion criteria;
• Follows up schedules to ensure proper delivery of training as per plant operational and technical needs as applicable.
Assessment
• Monitors work during theoretical training, practical training and demonstrations to evaluate, performance and compliance to procedures and standards and evaluates trainees’ achievement;
• Monitors and verifies the effectiveness of training interventions of training officers comparing programs and training officer’s performance to standards as per operations and KHDA / NQA requirements.
Developing Training Staff
• Ensures a unified understanding of training and developments KPI’s and training model; trains and develops training officers internally and/or externally to comply with technological innovations and ISO requirements;
According to Assigned Training Area
• Presents Math and Science lectures to New National employees joining National Training programs as applicable; advises first line supervisors on methods and practices related to Maths and Science courses, assessment of competence that will ensure a consistent approach to standards of training and retention of training records;
• Provides input to program development of OEM courses based on EGA requirements; monitors compliance of low and high voltage switching training and authorization; coordinates new Plant Expansion OEM training to maintenance and concerned employees during pre-commissioning and commissioning of the equipment;
• Evaluates training packages, including outlines, technical documents and hand-outs for Operations employees assigned on training courses and undergoing on-the-job training to acquire skills and expertise;
• Identifies and coordinates Skills Upgrade training modules for Plant employees within the field of expertise; liaises regularly with area management to ensure budgeted manning levels are maintained and replacement employees are trained to the required level of competence;
• Monitors and develops NT Utility Operator and NG training modules and programmes, (Theory and Practical) where existing modules are not available or revision is required; conducts academic lessons and assessments for National Trainees and candidates identified for internal promotions or up-skilling.
Emiratization
• Provides full support to all associated areas to achieve Emiratization objectives
Contributes to the training of National employees and others at all levels in order to achieve the level of nationalization set by company policy and current departmental requirements.
EHS/Quality
• Conducts monthly EHSSQ walk about and meetings as per EGA EHSSQ and ISO; develops as priority EHSSQ awareness and practices during training, particularly with National employees and new employees in order to ensure compliance with company EHSSQ policy and procedures.
Others
• Performs other duties, as required; follows up all purchase orders, work orders, invoices and ensure payment is made accordingly

AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:
 Works and reports to his / her Manager on matters such as approvals for training budgets, changes to policies and procedures;
 Makes decisions related to the delivery and assessment of trainees within agreed procedures and standards;
 Responsible for training in assigned area, including evaluation of training in the classroom and on the plant.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in relevant discipline, (Maths or Science for teachers); Plus recognized teaching or training qualification

National Training Programmes
• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of relevant experience
• Technical Diploma + 7 years of relevant experience
Power
• 5 years of experience in Power Operations processes
Technical
• Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years relevant experience

Teacher
7 year experience required at high school level
Skills:
• Good technical training skills; well conversant in technical skills required for aluminium smelters across all departments and/or power plants;

Technician – Mechanical Maint

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Repairs and maintains efficiently a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems in power plant.
Attends preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance repairs, with minimum direction and supervision, (including “on call” duties, as and when required), restores the mechanical systems, as quickly as possible.
Assists Technician Engineers or attends independently the jobs allocated with clear understanding of relevant methods and procedures including associated risks and selects the required tools and equipment to complete such works in a safe and effective manner.
Carries out maintenance works in adherence with EHS standards and plant operating requirements, to minimise workplace accidents / inquiries.
Monitors any repeated breakdown and suggests and implements proper resolutions to avoid reoccurrence of similar problems.
Directs contract workforce to carry out maintenance repairs and services, in line with the agreed plans.
Probability of significant exposure in various degrees to physical & sensory conditions inherent in the work environment, high pressure steam, high voltage, Arc Flash, high magnetic fields, high noise levels, Fumes, Hot, Humid, Dust, Height, splash of chemicals, Acid, Mineral oil and liquids is significant and avoiding risk of danger, accident or health issues becomes major challenges.
Accepts direction from his supervisor verbally or in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Craft /Trade certificate or equivalent qualification
Minimum Experience:

Diploma Holder: 5 years’ experience in a similar position (in a thermal Power plant)
Craft /Trade certificate holders: 8 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance
Hands-on experience on GE Frame 9E/9FA Gas Turbines, steam Turbines, Waste heat boilers, thermal desalination and other BOP equipment overhauls
Skills:

Familiar with all mechanical maintenance tools
Knowledge of PCs, Computer literacy is essential
Conversant in Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Waste heat Boilers, Compressors, Pumps, Cooling Towers and Reverse Osmosis PlantSpeak, read and write English to a good standard
Excellent interpersonal skills and assertiveness
Team work (including shift work is also essential)
Self-motivation & dedication
