The GAC story began in 1956 when Swedish entrepreneur Bengt Lindwall signed an agreement with two Kuwaiti businessmen to form Gulf Agency Company, providing professional ship agency services in the country. Kuwait’s Shipping License “No.1” is displayed at GAC Kuwait’s office in Farwaniya.
Lindwall’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of GAC over sixty years ago. Over the following decade, additional offices were opened throughout the Middle East as oil, shipping, and logistics activities expanded.
Global Attitude, Local Action
During the 1970s and 1980s, GAC companies were established in the Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Indian Subcontinent. In the 1990s and 2000s, the network expanded further across Europe, the Americas, Central Asia, and Australia. Today, GAC is a global provider of integrated shipping, logistics, and marine services.
