Emirates National Schools (ENS) began its educational journey in 2002 with the opening of its first campus in Mohammed Bin Zayed City. The establishment of ENS was authorized through a Presidential Decree, and the institution operates under the ownership of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. Since its foundation, ENS has steadily expanded, becoming one of the most respected educational networks in the United Arab Emirates.
Today, Emirates National Schools operates across five modern campuses strategically located in different emirates. Three campuses are situated within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, serving families in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi City, and Al Ain City. In addition to these locations, two newly developed campuses extend educational services to the Emirates of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, reflecting a commitment to accessible, high-quality education across the country.

The Al Ain City Campus holds particular distinction as the first campus in the city authorized to offer all three IB programs from early childhood through Grade 12. This authorization was achieved in Spring 2015. Subsequently, the Abu Dhabi City and Mohammed Bin Zayed City campuses received IB authorization during the Winter of the same year.
Meanwhile, the primary schools in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah are recognized as candidates for authorization under the IB Primary Years Programme. These campuses have been actively working toward meeting IB standards, with authorization anticipated during the 2016–2017 academic year.
