From its base in Dubai, flydubai has built an extensive aviation network that reaches more than 136 destinations worldwide, supported by a modern fleet of 97 aircraft. Since the start of operations in June 2009, the airline has focused on reducing barriers to travel, supporting the movement of trade and tourism, and strengthening cultural connectivity across an expanding global footprint. This vision has allowed the airline to transform regional mobility and open direct access to many destinations that previously lacked convenient air links.

flydubai operates with a commitment to improving global accessibility by connecting travelers, businesses, and communities across multiple regions. The airline’s strategy revolves around expanding travel opportunities, facilitating smoother economic exchange, and bridging distances between diverse cultures. By continuously developing new routes and enhancing service offerings, the airline plays a significant role in shaping Dubai’s influence as a major aviation hub.

Where it All Began

The airline’s journey began in June 2009, marking the start of what would become one of the UAE’s most dynamic aviation success stories. Today, flydubai stands as the second-largest carrier operating from Dubai International Airport (DXB), reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading global travel gateway. The network now extends to more than 125 destinations across 55 countries, reaching major commercial centers, emerging markets, and unique travel spots.Since launch, more than 100 million passengers have flown with flydubai, a milestone that reflects the airline’s expanding role in the region’s travel ecosystem. More than 90 underserved markets have been directly connected to Dubai through flydubai routes—markets that previously lacked efficient or direct air connectivity. This achievement highlights the airline’s ongoing contribution to economic growth and improved mobility for millions of travelers.

Fleet Overview

flydubai operates a fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft, designed to maximize efficiency, reliability, and comfort. The fleet includes 29 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, 56 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets, and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft. With one of the youngest fleets in operation today, flydubai continues to prioritize modern aviation technology to ensure performance and sustainability across all routes. The airline operates more than 1,500 flights per week, transporting thousands of passengers across different regions. A single-aisle Boeing 737 fleet allows the airline to maintain operational consistency, streamline training and maintenance, and consistently deliver reliable service. In support of future expansion, flydubai has also placed an order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners scheduled for delivery from 2026 onward. This strategic move signals a shift toward expanding long-haul capabilities and further strengthening Dubai’s connectivity with new global markets.

People and Workforce

Travel extends beyond destinations; it represents connections between people, cultures, and shared experiences. The workforce at flydubai reflects this diversity, with employees representing more than 140 nationalities. Every member of the organization contributes to the airline’s mission of bringing people closer, from Pilots and Cabin Crew to Engineers, Ground Staff, and corporate teams working behind the scenes.

The organization values individuals who embody qualities such as dynamism, efficiency, reliability, and a human-centered approach. Opportunities within the airline span multiple fields, including aviation operations, engineering, corporate management, customer experience, digital development, and more. Career development is strongly encouraged, offering employees the chance to build long-term professional pathways within the industry. Prospective candidates are invited to explore current vacancies to better understand the roles and possibilities available across the company.

The Network

From Dubai—one of the world’s most advanced and multi-cultural cities—flydubai continues to expand its route map. Over the past 15 years, the airline has developed a network that reaches more than 125 destinations across 55 countries. These include regions across Africa, the GCC and Middle East, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, and South-East Asia. Many destinations within this network were previously underserved or lacked direct connections to Dubai. Today, travelers can access these cities through frequent and reliable flight schedules.

All flydubai routes operate within a flying radius of approximately seven hours from the Dubai hub. This strategic positioning allows easy access to key global regions while maintaining operational efficiency. Dubai itself is home to more than three million residents representing over 200 nationalities, making it an ideal gateway for extensive international connectivity.

Culture and Vision

Since the beginning of operations in 2009, flydubai has challenged traditional expectations surrounding air travel. The airline has consistently adapted to evolving customer needs, introducing relevant products and practical solutions at the right time. Its forward-looking approach has contributed to shaping the regional aviation landscape, extending choices for travelers and offering a more inclusive vision of accessibility.

The culture within flydubai emphasizes innovation, agility, and collaboration. More than 6,000 employees contribute to this environment, sharing ideas and working collectively to overcome challenges. This spirit reflects the vibrant, ambitious energy of Dubai itself. Each team member plays an essential role in maintaining operational excellence and pushing boundaries to offer more travel possibilities.
