Open Position: Senior Accountant
About the job
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant. Will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end / year-end closing activities. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting junior staff. The role is located in Al Asimah, Kuwait.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) activities.
Ensure proper documentation and posting of all accounting transactions.
Review and validate expense reports and vendor invoices.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support external and internal audit requirements.
Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
Analyze account balances and variances; provide explanations.
Prepare accruals, provisions, and adjusting entries.
Support management with financial performance analysis.
Provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
Process Improvement
Implement and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures.
Recommend improvements to financial processes and systems.
Support automation initiatives to increase efficiency.
Team Support
Assist in supervision, training, and onboarding of junior accounting staff.
Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, HR, operations, and other teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification preferred: CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
Advanced MS Excel skills.
